The United States is home to the most prolific number of calls to the police, with more than 8,500 per capita.
According to a new report by the Pew Research Center, the country is also the most militarized country in the world.
The report, titled “Callers: the toll of police violence,” found that 1.4 million Americans died in police custody in 2016, an increase of more than 12% from 2015.
The numbers don’t include the many thousands of people who have died from police shootings in recent years, including one of the deadliest in the history of the United State.
This report also found that police in the US were disproportionately targeting black men and people of color.
The authors of the report say this is a clear indication of how police brutality and racial bias continue to affect people of colour.
It’s also an opportunity to examine how police are working to de-escalate the situation, they write.
“We know from the experience of the Black Lives Matter movement that when police are seen as an ally, we feel less likely to engage in police-involved shootings, and when police aren’t seen as ‘our’ allies, we are less likely and are more likely to be harmed,” the authors write.
The researchers also found a correlation between how police in one city responded to Black Lives Matters and how those officers treated Black people in another city.
They say that when the police officers in Minneapolis responded to the Black protesters’ call for a rally in the Twin Cities, they stopped the event at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport and arrested dozens of people.
They also arrested several people who were not arrested.
In one case, the police arrested a Black man for throwing a rock at the officers and for refusing to drop a lit cigarette in the officer’s lap.
In another case, a Black woman who was in a car with her partner was shot while driving through the Minneapolis area.
And a man in a wheelchair was killed in a police raid in North Dakota.
In each case, protesters called for the release of the police officer who was shooting at them, and for the police to be held accountable.
“When police officers are seen in the same way, it’s hard to imagine them not acting out, or at least responding with restraint,” the researchers write.
In a study released earlier this year, the Pew report found that Black people and young people are at greater risk of being killed by police officers.
In the same study, the researchers found that people of all ages and backgrounds are less safe in their homes than they were 10 years ago.
That includes people who live in households with someone of color, people who are at or below the poverty line, and people with disabilities.
The study also found there is a disproportionate amount of people of Asian descent who are killed by law enforcement officers.
The Pew report also reported that in 2016 there were more than 100,000 Americans killed by the police in police incidents, with white officers making up almost half of all police fatalities.
The FBI says it has a database of every police shooting in the country.
It says there are currently more than 4,000 active cases of police-related homicides.
The data comes from the FBI’s Supplementary Homicide Reports, which is a database that includes information on people killed by officers who were also involved in shooting.
The database also includes information about the number of people arrested for criminal activity, including charges like resisting arrest.
In 2016, the FBI reported that there were 5,857 homicides in the U.S., but it doesn’t provide statistics on the number people killed.
The Department of Justice also does not have data on police- related homicides.
“Police brutality and racism are real and present and cannot be ignored,” says Marcia Gershman, an attorney with the American Civil Liberties Union of Northern California.
“It’s not a coincidence that the numbers of people killed in police shootings increase every year.
They’re responding to calls that are growing in frequency, and they’re responding aggressively to protests, and these are the communities where there is the greatest amount of violence.”
Gersyman says this is an opportunity for communities to work to deescalate tensions between police and the community, and to encourage more people to report incidents of police brutality.
“The people who should be leading us are the families who are hurt, and the people who need to be helping us with that healing process,” she says.
“This is an urgent time, and this is not a time for complacency.”
