Communications company Fairpoint Communications has confirmed it is considering a sale of its satellite communications service.
The company, which is one of the country’s largest providers of satellite internet, said it had reached an agreement with a number of telecommunications companies to buy the satellite service from telcos for $2.5 billion.
“We have reached an arrangement with telcos that will enable us to offer a satellite service that will be available to all telcos across Australia,” Fairpoint Chief Executive Steve Deane said in a statement.
