The former Italy midfielder and captain, who scored 31 goals in 69 games for Milan, says he feels a new identity, with the chance to take on a new challenge in the Champions League.
The 31-year-old, who signed a five-year contract with AS Roma in July 2016, says the new season has been a breakthrough season for him.
“I am looking forward to playing in the biggest competition, the Champions, in a season when I will be starting from the bottom,” he said.
“I think I have found a new style, a new way of playing, a different style of playing.”
While not in the form of a previous campaign, Giampiero Ventura, the defender who won the Serie A Golden Boot in 2014, believes there is a new, dynamic quality to the players in the squad.
“We are a different kind of team, a more balanced one,” he told Rai Sport.
“There are a lot of players who are different and have different styles, but they all work hard.
They are all part of the same group.
There are not many teams with a more diverse squad.”
In the end, Juventus will be in action in the semi-finals of the competition, against AC Milan, who defeated AC Milan 2-1 on Tuesday.
The Bianconeri are on a five game winning streak in Serie A, after reaching the last 16 of the Europa League in May.
The team that wins the competition on Tuesday will take on Inter Milan in the last eight.
